TRANSPARENCY, RESPONSIBILITY & LOVE

It is very, very important to me to create with transparency, respect and love for our mother earth and everyone included in the production-process.

...THAT'S SPIRITUALITY TO ME

I do extensive research to bring together materials & production facilities that ensure the highest eco-credibility, fair-working conditions & materials that do no harm to life here on earth.

Everything we do & consume should nurture, protect, support and enable life here on planet earth. This stands in direct opposition to the thousands of years of a completely different paradigm: it was all about the exploitation and domination of life here on earth. It was all about suppression and survival.

I believe it is our responsibility now, to create a new paradigm: to make life here on earth about expression and liberation, and coming out of survival-mode into an actual living-mode.

Having said that, I am honest with you: here & now, it´s not possible to live that new paradigm fully, as not all companies are transparent with their processes & raw materials. We are in the transition phase of coming out of unconsciousness & destruction into a more conscious & constructive attitude towards life.

I am conscious about that, I ask questions, I try to get answers about production places, processes and the source of raw materials, and I invite you to do the same. Because to change the old ways of exploitation of mother earth, of women, children, workers and all life around the world, it is of the utmost importance to make supply chains transparent.

To get conscious about yourself means to get conscious about everything going on here on this planet, that´s spirituality. Know yourself, know your food, know your clothes, know your technology, know what you consume.

But I do not mean to be condemning, hard or evaluative in doing so. I was there in my Teens and Twenties, and life tought me that hardening into a black and white attitude is not supporting life at all.

I am far away from reaching perfection. To me it´s all about the intention to be consciously in connection with life.

Now, to the facts: My Art Cards and `Net of Life´-print products are entirely produced in Europe. My `Landscape´-print products are produced locally - which means, always nearest to your home from where you order, all around the world. I have big trust in this print-partner that they hold human working-standards in all of their partner-labs. I know where almost all of my products are being produced. Most of the paper is produced in Europe in Paper-manufactories with a long tradition like Hahnemühle in Germany, Canson in France and Ferrugoni in Italy.

My large paper-artworks `Net of Life´ and `Metamorphosis´ gave me a hard time in making them "hangable", as it is very difficult to hang such large papers in a way that looks good (if you do not want to nail them into the wall, which is of course also a possibility). After long and extensive research I decided to offer them as Aluminium-Dibond Prints. This is a High Quality Giclee Print on Fine Art Paper with a 3 mm (0,11 in.) thick aluminum Dibond backing. Dibond aluminum consists of two thin layers of aluminum which encase a black polyethylene core. Aluminium and Polyethylene are problematic materials concerning their eco-credentials. In this case so far I cannot get any information about where the raw materials are coming from, the only thing the print-lab is revealing is that they "strictly reject products created using child labour", and they try to source as locally as possible. I decided to offer this product after all, as an artwork is not a desposable, single-use product, it is supposed to last a lifetime and more. In my everyday life I avoid the use of Aluminium and plastic as much as possible.

Thank you for taking the time and reading all of this! For me, true sustainability begins with a conscious intention to connect with the Earth, Mother Earth - not referring to it as "environment" anymore, but understanding it as a nourishing ground, as the soil that nurtures us, as a soulful community we are part of. And I am pretty sure that that would solve almost all of our problems...
